My name is Colm Hastings, and I am based in Cork, Ireland. My involvement in the world of purebred dogs began in 1979, and since then, dogs have been both a passion and a way of life.
I am best known as an Old English Sheepdog specialist, having spent many years breeding, exhibiting, and promoting this wonderful breed.
Throughout my career, I have been committed to preserving breed type, soundness, temperament, and overall quality, both in the show ring and through responsible breeding.
I am qualified by both the FCI and the Irish Kennel Club to judge all breeds and groups, a privilege that has allowed me to develop a broad and comprehensive understanding of dogs across the entire spectrum of pedigree breeds.
Over the years, judging has taken me to many countries throughout Europe and across the world. It has been a tremendous honour to officiate at numerous prestigious events and to meet exhibitors, breeders, and fellow judges from a wide variety of canine cultures and traditions.
When judging, I place great importance on breed type, soundness, movement, and temperament, always striving to assess each dog against its breed standard while rewarding those that best represent the qualities that breeders work so hard to preserve.
I am delighted to have the opportunity to judge at this event and look forward to evaluating the exhibits and meeting exhibitors who share the same enthusiasm and dedication to our sport.
